A tanker laden with fuel, on the evening of Thursday, fell and caught fire at Apata in Ibadan, Oyo State on its way to offload the content.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the incident happened opposite Oando filling station.
Many shops, buildings and properties were gutted in the inferno.
As at the time of filing this report, firefighters are battling to put out the fire.
According to witnesses, the tanker had a brake failure and decided to maneuver, thereby falling inside the drainage.
