Sincerity of purpose by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other Nigeria leaders would go a long way in addressing Nigeria’s present economic, security and social challenges.

To this end, the ultimate goal to achieve economic growth is to explore the principles and strategies that can be employed to promote good governance and foster economic recovery and growth in challenging times.

This formed part of the opinions of the stakeholders at a public lecture organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zone B, in Osogbo, Osun State.

Speaking on the topic “Enhancing Good Governance in a Beleaguered Economy“, the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Nigerians Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Adeolu Akande, said in the face of economic crises and uncertainty, the role of effective governance becomes paramount in guiding a nation towards stability, prosperity, and sustainable growth. 

Professor Akande represented by Dr. Idowu Johnson, described good governance as the foundation upon which a successful and resilient economy is built as well as ensures that decision-making processes are fair, just, and reflect the interests of all citizens. 

In his remark, the Vice President of NUJ Zone B, Comrade Aderonke Afebioye -Samo said removal of subsidy is good but government own Nigerians a duty to ameliorate the suffering of the people.

She said good governance is a fundamental to Economic growth, political stability and development adding that good governance encourages responsiveness to the yearning and aspiration of the people during trying times .
