The Osun State sector command of the Federal road safety corps says six persons lost their lives while Eleven were injured in a multiple road accident that occurred at Imesi- Ile Hill in Imesi-ile Town.

According to the State Sector Commander, Corps Commander, Henry Benemaisia in a statement by the Route Commander, Agnes Ogungbemi the fatal accident occurred yesterday , two vehicles had a head-on collision on Saturday at about 9: 44 p.m. due to the brake failure of one of them, resulting in the death of six persons.

He said that an articulated vehicle ( Red Daf ) without a number plate, collided with another blue commercial truck on Imesi -Ile hill with casualties due to speeding.

The Sector Commander noted that one of the dead victim was trapped under the truck and the FRSC team employed the extricating machine in order to remove the trapped body , however, the five other dead victims were taken to Uniosun Teaching Hospital Osogbo by the Nigerian Police Force, NPF, IMESI – ILE.

Corps commander, Benemaisia urged road users to drive carefully to prevent any form of accident which could lead to loss of lives and property.
