The founder, Forum for Oke-Ogun Progress, FFOP, Alhaji Said Imran Adekunle, has advised students to embark on courses that are relevant to their passion, to contribute to national development.

Alhaji Adekunle stated this while speaking at the 3rd Education Summit of the forum on the topic, “The Proliferation of Tertiary Institutions and Failed Standards of Education in Nigeria”.

The FFOP founder advocated more funding for the existing tertiary institutions rather than the creation of new ones.

He reiterated that meeting up with the United Nations and UNESCO standards will boost the standards of living in the country.

Alhaji Adekunle who appealed to the government to allocate more resources to enable the institutions to rank among the best in research and manpower, also appealed for free education at more levels.

While contributing, a lawyer, Adisa Fasasi, who was a fashion designer for 30 years, said he had represented Oyo State at 23 Trade Fairs at both national and international levels before returning to school to study law.

Mr Fasasi encouraged students to prioritise entrepreneurship studies to be gainfully self-employed as well as becoming employers of labour rather than looking for white-collar jobs.
