The Ekiti Government says it has commenced contact tracing of the fourteen new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the state on Monday.

The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Mojisola Yaya Kolade announced this in Ado Ekiti.

Dr Yaya Kolade advised those who had contacts with any of the victims to make themselves available to reduce the spread of the virus in Ekiti.

She explained that the fourteen new cases announced on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, were discovered at the ongoing random testing in council areas.

According to the commissioner, the random testing had been carried out in  Ikere, Gbonyin, Emure and Ise/ Orun local governments.

EKITI state had so far recorded 63 cases of Coronavirus, with 40 discharged, 21 still receiving treatment at the isolation centre in Ado Ekiti and two deaths.
