Court Strikes Out Shittu’s Governorship Primary Exclusion Suit

A Federal high court sitting in Ibadan has struck out a suit by the minister of communication Chief Adebayo Shittu challenging his exclusion from governorship primary election of All Progressives’ Congress for filing out of time.

Delivering the Judgment, the presiding Judge, Justice P.I Ajoku said the petition was filed after the fourteen days of the primary election.

Justice Ajoku said this was against the provision of new law that any pre- election matter must be filed within fourteen days from the time the action occurred.

Reacting to the Judgment, counsel to All Progressive Congress, Mr. Adebayo Ojo commended the judgment saying the court had strengthened the rule of law with the landmark ruling.
