The Supreme Court has dismissed the former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni’s eligibility suit against Governor Kayode Fayemi for lack of merit.

Chief Oni proceeded to the Supreme Court after both the High Court and Court of Appeal dismissed same case for lack of merit.

He approached the court to challenge the participation of Dr Kayode Fayemi in the APC primary election held in May Last year, claiming that the governor who was the then Minister of Mines and Steel Development failed to resign his appointment as stated in the constitution.
