Academic activities for the 2019/2020 second term session has commenced in Oyo State after the Christmas and New Year public holidays.

In most of the private and secondary schools visited in Ibadan, students were cleaning their classroom chairs and lockers while others were picking litter, as well as sweeping the schools surroundings.

During Radio Nigeria visit to Orogun Grammar School, I.M.G Primary and Secondary School, Oke Ado and Oke Ado Comprehensive High School, the cleaning exercise was carried out under the supervision of some teachers.

At Shepherd Success Academy and other private schools in Ibadan, the first assembly of pupils in the year provided platform for reunion.

The turnout in most of the schools was however low, this notwithstanding did not hinder commencement of academic work as confirmed by one of the vice principal of Oke Bola Comprehensive High School.

In an interview, Mrs Bola James of Shepherd Success Academy, Agbowo, and principal of Orogun Grammar School, Chief Dolapo Olubode said aside staff meeting earlier held, the teachers lesson notes had been examined for commencement of academic work.

Some students and pupils, who spoke to Radio Nigeria, said they were glad for the resumption while some teachers expressed their readiness to commence teaching.
