Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has ordered the reduction in the daily levies charge on the commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists in the state from two hundred to hundred naira.

The state government had earlier imposed a daily levy of two hundred naira on all commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists.

However, the state’s Commissioner for Public works, Infrastructure and transportation, Professor Raphael Afonja, while briefing newsmen on the latest development in the state transport sector, said the step became imperative after governor Makinde had considered the working condition of the commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists.

Professor Raphael explained that the revenue collectors would be at every park from tomorrow morning and urged the commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists to cooperate with them.

The commissioner hinted that in order to control the influx of commercial motorcyclists into Oyo State, the government would in due course issue Rider’s card to all registered commercial motorcyclists so as to identify them from criminal elements using motorcycle to operate.
