Ekiti Monarchs, Community Leaders Table Requests Before Fayemi

Residents of various towns in Ekiti State want Government to establish vocational Centres across the three Senatorial districts and construction of more roads.

Other requests are channelization of water ways, renovation of schools and to build befitting palaces for the Traditional Rulers.

They made the request through their Traditional Rulers at Citizens Engagement Meeting With the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi held across the three Senatorial Districts, Oye, Ise, and Ado Ekiti also appreciated the present administration’s efforts to gear towards meeting the yearnings of the people.

In Oye Ekiti, the Representatives of the seven Towns, Elewu of Ewu Ekiti Oba Bamidele Ajayi lamented that the local government was yet to have a befitting Secretarial Headquarters despite the fact that the council had been located in Eda-oniyo.

Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Represented by Chief Oluwajaye Okunola called for renovation and reconstruction of roads linking the communities in the area.

Onitaji of Itaji Ekiti, Oba Adamo Babalola want completion of the ongoing projects, construction of public toilet in all the markets in Oye council.

The Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, Oba Peteru Daramola called for resucsitation of stipend to the local vigilante group to boost the security of the state.

Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe also sought the government’s assistance in renovation and equipping of heath centres especially in farmsteads.

Other facilities requested for are provision of potable water, transformer, Township Roads security, and well equipped hospitals.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Budget, Mr. Femi Ajayi who noted that government was trying its best to meet the yearnings of the people for inclusion in the 2022 budget.

Mr Ajayi noted that provision of potable water was met in 2021 budget as requested by some communities in the state, while many hecters of land had been cleared to ensure large scale farming and promised that their requests would be looked into with a view to address the urgent ones.
