Wife of a veteran broadcaster, Mrs Ifeoluwakitan Olasope has appealed to the Federal Government to pay less attention to certification but support young broadcasters to enhance their professionalism.

Speaking during a condolence visit by the management of Gold FM to the family of Chief Kunle Olasope in Efon- Alaye, Ekiti State, Mrs Olasope described her husband as a lover of youths and talented broadcaster, who worked for the growth of radio broadcasting in Africa.

She appreciated the management of the station and implored other broadcasters to work towards taking the profession to greater heights.

In their remarks, the heads of the six quarters in Efon-Alaye said chief Olasope would be missed by the people, noting that the late veteran contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of the ancient community, including the creation of Efon Local Government in Ekiti State.

Earlier, the leader of Gold FM team and head of programmes, Mr Abayomi Adewale sympathised with the family of the deceased, his professional colleagues and the community.

He prayed God to grant the community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
